Highlights from our Adventure (2/20/23)
Taste Different Creative Arts!
We’re thrilled to be partnering with ArtFarm Studios to provide an opportunity for students to try their hand at a variety of unique creative arts. They’ll come home with new experiences and amazing souvenirs (and maybe a new passion?)!
We’ll have five great local artists in-house. Students will get to pick four activities from the following five choices:
Beat making
Henna
Jewelry making
Encaustic painting (using hot wax and pigment)
Photography
We’ll divide the students into small groups and rotate them through each activity.
The idea of our adventure trips is to expose the students to all there is to discover out in the world. We're trying to 🔥spark🔥 their interest — perhaps in a future hobby, career, or mentor. We will take the best adventure trips and incorporate them into our full-time Acton Academy opening this fall.
This adventure is open to ages 8-14 and costs $80 per child (lunch and materials are included). Activity preferences will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Schedule
Monday, February 20th, 9 am - 3 pm
ArtFarm Studios: 111 Chinquapin Round Rd #200, Annapolis, MD 21401
8:45 AM: Drop-off at ArtFarm Studios
9:00 AM: Welcome
We’ll take a quick tour of the studios and walkthrough how the schedule works.
9:20 AM: Art station #1
We’ll divide the students into small groups and rotate them through each activity, spending a little over an hour at each station. Each station will have students doing hands-on work alongside an artist.
10:35 AM: Art station #2
11:30 AM: Lunch (Pizza)
12:20 PM: Art station #3
1:35 PM: Art station #4
2:45 PM: Hang out with the artists and wrap up any activities (plus a surprise treat!).
3:00 PM: Pickup at ArtFarm
Parents’ Checklist
Pack a water bottle.
Smartphones are not allowed. We don’t want any distractions from screens. There will be a group text with the adults on the trip should you need to reach your child.
Arrange payment of $80 per child.
